When I passed my driving test in 1998 the price of diesel was around 75ppl. Now we are looking at around 100ppl. Can anyone predict what the price will be in another 8 years? I place money on it not going down.
I current commute 100 miles per day so an economical diesel fits the bill very well.
My car of choice is a VW Bora TDI 115bhp 6 speed.
It averages between 48 and 52mpg and can go like a scalded cat when needed.

Using on average 2725 litres per year makes a fuel bill around £2600.
For this, I started doing some research and found that biodiesel would probably be the best solution to reducing my energy bill and even helps the environment.
I stumbled across a local Biodiesel producer. At 80ppl delivered to my door I thought what the hell, why not give it a go. If it works I could save £400 a year (every year).
On Thursday 11th May 2006 I received my first delivery of 200 litres and topped up my car.
I took it for a 40 mile round trip and found the performance just the same as dinodiesel. When I tried to start it hot the car churned over before starting, the Bora has always started on the button.
On Monday 15th May I took it for an MOT and the emissions had dropped from 0.75 (last year) to 0.07 (this year). The MOT tester said he never seen a car that low so it must be good.
I have been having hot starting problems so got intouch with the US experts who told me the fuel was not washed enough. I did a test and found it to not upto the standard required for the PD engine. I then washed it myself and it improved. Next delivery of fuel will have this sorted so fingers crossed that I'll be starting better.
What it should not look like! What it should look like!

I got in touch with www.pdtuning.co.uk who sorted a new tuning module to correct the viscosity differnce between the fuel. This improved the fuel economy and it goes probably gives me an extra 15bhp.
